Bring your creativity to life!

This class teaches the basics of animation in a fun and easy-to-learn way.  Even if you can only draw a stick figure you can create a beautifully animated work of art.  The student will start with the basics in the form of a flipbook and storyboard development.  They will then progress to the different methods of stop motion including cut paper, sketch animation, and claymation.  Finally, techniques in traditional digital animation and rotoscoping will be covered.

Supplies needed:

• Sketch pad and pencil

• Notepad

• Project materials may include clay, heavy paper, foam-core and will be discussed in class.

• Laptop (required software will be discussed in class).

Channel your creativity into the digital and print realm!

This class covers the fundamentals found in a graphic designer tool-box:

• Gestalt Principles

• Form and Line

• Color Theory

• Golden Ratio

• Balance and Composition

• Typography

• File Preparation

The student will then transfer this knowledge into the development of real-world projects.  Projects will include logo design, business card layout, product packaging, and magazine layout.

The student will also learn basic functionality in the industry-standard software – Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).

Supplies needed:

• Notebook and pen/pencil

• 3-ring binder

• laptop with a subscription to the Adobe Creative Suite.
